Education Program

Australia’s leading chamber group, the Australia Ensemble, resident at UNSW, is pleased to launch a new education program aimed at secondary school students.

The primary activity is a series of free lunch hour workshops for which a schools worksheet will be provided. The worksheet offers information regarding the composer of each work, background to the work, and follow-up study activities. The workshops themselves provide students with the opportunity to hear leading Australian composers speak about their own work and compositional process, and hear the work performed at the highest possible standard. There is a one-off $25 registration fee per school for the 2007 series that ensures your group will receive worksheets for each program and have seats reserved for your students. A booking sheet is enclosed, or contact the Music Performance Unit on 02 9385 4874, or australia.ensemble@unsw.edu.au.

In addition, school groups are welcome to attend free lunch hour concerts which present 1-hour programs of varied chamber music.

School groups are offered student rush-priced tickets to the Saturday evening subscription concerts for only $13 each - one accompanying teacher may attend for free with every 10 students.

Give your students the opportunity to enjoy the very best chamber music in Australia and learn from the experience. Welcome to the Australia Ensemble’s 2007 season.
